Can I get into UBC with 3.3 GPA?
In order to be considered for admission to the University of British Columbia, international students must have a high school grade of at least B+. For Arts, 3.4 can be acceptable, as long as you have 1300-1350+ SAT scores. Note that UBC weighs more on the personal profile for Arts. For Science/Commerce/Applied Science, you generally need a 3.7-3.8.
The minimum academic standing to qualify for admission as a transfer student is a C average (60% where 50% is a passing grade), or grade point average of 2.0 (calculated on a 4.0 scale), on the most recent 24 to 30 transferable credits completed, including failed and repeated courses.

Can I transfer to a UC with a 3.3 GPA?
UC has a specific way to calculate the grade point average (GPA) it requires for admission. California applicants must earn at least a 3.0 GPA and nonresidents must earn a minimum 3.4 GPA in all A-G or college-preparatory courses to meet this requirement.

A 3.3 GPA is above the national average for high school students, but it's not high enough to get you accepted to schools that are very selective. 52.21% of schools have an average GPA below a 3.3. You can apply to colleges and have a good shot at getting admitted. You have a low chance of getting into with a 3.3 GPA.

However, remember an unweighted GPA does not account for course difficulty. If a student takes AP courses and receives a 3.3 unweighted GPA, they might be more competitive than those in regular classes with a 3.5.

It depends on how long you've been in school. If this GPA is based on one year, then yes, you can raise your GPA to a 3.7 by getting a 4.0 ((3.4 + 4.0)/2) = 3.7), if the credit values are the same. If this GPA is based on two years, then yes, you can raise your GPA to a 3.6 by getting a 4.0.

If you have a 3.0 GPA and 15 credit hours, by earning straight A's during your next (15 credit) semester, you can bump your GPA to a 3.5. However, if you have already earned 60 credit hours and have a 3.0 GPA a straight-A semester will only bump your GPA to a 3.2.

General requirements
If you are not in good standing and/or have a GPA of less than 2.00 ( 60%), you will not be admitted. Admission is competitive. In the past, the average for admission has ranged from a 2.50 GPA to a 3.50 GPA depending on the program - for details see admission averages.
UBC calculates grade averages based on a weighted average calculation. The process to calculate a weighted grade average for a group of courses is as follows: For each course in a group of selected courses, multiply the course grade by the number of credits for that particular course.
